Mickey Champion started singing as a child in Lake Charles, Louisiana. An immediate sensation, she was discovered by the famed bandleader Johnny Otis at a weekly talent show presented by the Largo Theater in Los Angeles. Upon joining his band, she toured the country with Billie Holiday, Ike and Tina Turner, Big Mama Thornton, T-Bone Walker and other stars of the day. Now Mickey returns with a comeback studio CD featuring Grammy winner Keb' Mo', plus musicians from the Eagles, the Carole King Band, the Dianne Reeves Band and musical director Alex Schultz on guitar.
